Tinashe Sumaili, a grade nine student at Newcastle High School, has brought acclaim to the school by winning bronze at the International Eskom Science Expo for Young Scientists held in Boksburg. The team from Newcastle High won multiple praise in the event held from 24 to 27 September 2019.

His project was titled “Locomotives Revolutionised” and wowed the judges with his creativeness. “Science is exciting and opens up new possibilities for our future,” said Tinashe. “I am awed by the achievement and cannot wait for next year’s competition.”
