As part of the Mandela Day Programme, the learners at Newcastle High School embarked on a Clean-Up Campaign of their school and the town. The project was headed by the school’s Wildlife and Environmental Club in its inaugural ambit to make a positive difference in their school and community. Approximately a hundred learners from Grades 10 to 12 donned big smiles and bin bags as they walked around the school and the town. It was a proud sight to see learners, teachers and officials coming together and making a difference in such a meaningful way. The Wildlife and Environmental Club is headed by Mrs N. Singh who has been proactive in these many endeavours.
